A letter to my best friend

You are lovely.

You are lovely in a way most people aren't. You are of course beautiful in an undeniable way, but you are extra lovely because you spread your loveliness to all those around you. You are lovely because you are full of kindness and wisdom and patience that is beyond your years.

You are lovely because you raise me up when I'm down. (Let's be honest -- you raise me up even when I'm not down. I'm so spoiled.) You are lovely because you seem to always know what to say even if sometimes I'm not patient enough to listen.

You are lovely because every single day I am happy and thankful to have you in my life. I want to brag so much to everyone about how amazing you are and how you've chosen to come along for the ride with me. Everyone I've ever met knows about you because you are just so lovely I can't help mention you.

Anyway, life is too short to not tell people you love them, right? Because even if it's a year about cutting out people who don't contribute to my life positively, I should make sure to tell the ones who do that they DO. And keep those people around.

Sure, some people have treated me poorly (myself included), but you -- you're just lovely.
